Quick Add

The New Task button is great if you need to put in a lot of information in one go, but often I prefer to quickly capture an idea for later as it occurs to me. For that I use Quick Add.

This button when clicked:

It is a free form text box for the task title, and it takes some extra short hand constructs to assign it various things. For example:

If you don't specifiy then certain rules will apply. If a single list is selected then it will be assigned to that list. Any other time then it will always be added to the quickadd list so you can then move it somewhere else:
